Just Add Ink #33 – A Sketch Challenge

by ministamper

Well it’s just gone lunchtime on Father’s Day and I have managed to come up with a card for this weeks JAI33 sketch challenge. this morning I had the family for breakfast and then my husband decided he wanted to go watch some local football… well!!! it is Father’s Day and he gets to do what HE wants to do, so off he toddled and I thought i’d check out this weeks JAI challenge, yippee!!!!!!!!. Anyway, last week I had lent out my NEW embossing folder ‘Vintage Wallpaper’ to my 2Upline Sarah Klass, she used the ‘letterpress’ technique with it and I did tell her that I was ‘Soooo’ going to CASE that idea, and, when I saw the sketch this morning I thought it looked just perfect for that technique, thanks Sarah.

This is the sketch:

and this is my entry:

Stamp Sets: Curvy Verses
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Punches: Wide Oval, Lots of Tags Sizzlit
Accessories: Ribbon, Glue Dot
Tools: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Brayer

My order from the new catalogue hasn’t arrived yet so I had to use retired ribbon, this ribbon is so nice to work with, i’ll miss it.  I tied the bow on its’ own then used a glue dot to stick it down, I don’t want anyone thinking I can tie a bow like that and still have the ribbon perfectly straight across the card LOL…

  1. Hi Michelle,
Your work is beautiful – and that gorgeous technique with the “reverse” embossing looks kinda familiar ….. 🙂
    Thanks for sharing.
    Sharlene.

  2. Thanks Sharlene, I lent my new embossing folder to my 2upline Sarah Klass, and this is what she done with it, and when I saw the sketch this morning I thought the background looked exactly like that. Brayer the colour onto the ‘back’ part of the folder and emboss (easy)…

  3. Hi, I love the technique on your card. Beautiful! And I don’t mind if you case my card at all..It’s an honour actually! What does chrissy card mean?
