JAI34 – A Colour Combo

by ministamper

I think the ladies over at Just Add Ink  call these challenges because, they ARE just that, a challenge, and this weeks challenge was certainly one for me.

Firstly I changed my mind so many times, then my first attempt with a card was so awful I didn’t finish it… it looked OK in my head… but on paper!!!!!!! no

The colour combo this week is:

Anyway I came up with this little picture frame combo, and it looks greeeeaaat, in real life….. my next challenge was to try and photograph it, i’m afraid to say that was not a success, unfortunately because I had to leave the glass on the frame (I stamped on the glass, which is part of the effect) then every pic I took had my hand, my camera or my head in it. These photos are the best of a bad bunch, I hope you like…

Just Add Ink #33 – A Sketch Challenge

by ministamper

Well it’s just gone lunchtime on Father’s Day and I have managed to come up with a card for this weeks JAI33 sketch challenge. this morning I had the family for breakfast and then my husband decided he wanted to go watch some local football… well!!! it is Father’s Day and he gets to do what HE wants to do, so off he toddled and I thought i’d check out this weeks JAI challenge, yippee!!!!!!!!. Anyway, last week I had lent out my NEW embossing folder ‘Vintage Wallpaper’ to my 2Upline Sarah Klass, she used the ‘letterpress’ technique with it and I did tell her that I was ‘Soooo’ going to CASE that idea, and, when I saw the sketch this morning I thought it looked just perfect for that technique, thanks Sarah.

This is the sketch:

and this is my entry:

Stamp Sets: Curvy Verses
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Punches: Wide Oval, Lots of Tags Sizzlit
Accessories: Ribbon, Glue Dot
Tools: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Brayer

My order from the new catalogue hasn’t arrived yet so I had to use retired ribbon, this ribbon is so nice to work with, i’ll miss it.  I tied the bow on its’ own then used a glue dot to stick it down, I don’t want anyone thinking I can tie a bow like that and still have the ribbon perfectly straight across the card LOL…
